Chris Leak's not a Heisman Candidate

The Vegas oddsmakers have Gators QB Chris Leak as a 15-1 shot to win the Heisman. I'm sorry, I just don't buy it. Hell, he's not even the consensus #1 on his own team. Yes, Leak was impressive last season, completing 62.8% of his passes last season with 20 touchdowns, 6 INTs and a 136.53 QB rating. But as we've discussed before, as lot of people are also high on Florida QB Tim Tebow. So can we REALLY call Leak a Heisman candidate?

I don't have an ounce of faith in Leak even leading his team to the top of the ACC. But it does seem that for the past year or two, everyone has gotten on his case for one thing or another lol.

Re: Chris Leak's not a Heisman Candidate

I'll tell you what - I might be ready to change my tune a little on Chris Leak. After two games, the Florida Gators QB is completing 67.8% of his passes for 600 yards, 7 touchdowns and just 2 INTs. Maybe he does deserve to be discussed as a Heisman candidate after all, eh? I guess perhaps we'll find out for sure this week against Tennessee.

Most preseason magazines had this kid as the best QB in the SEC...so how bad can he be?...He also started the coemback against Tenn.

Leak will never get to the top of the ACC because he plays in the SEC...
It becomes clear you don't really know much about the Florida team, so you definitely don't have room to talk about who is or is not a Candidate from this team.

Leak plays moderately, and is a slim chance for Heisman, but he has been playing well enough thus far. The Gators are one of the few teams left with a true sense of teamwork. And at the end of the day the W is what matters for Leak, not the number of touchdowns or 'heismanish plays' he made to get there.
