| Gators still in hunt for the East | McClatchy | Story updated at 11:00 PM on Sunday, October 7, 2007 BATON ROUGE, La. - Time for some good news, Gator fans. Florida remains in the middle of a crazy race to win the SEC's East Division. Sure, Florida is 2-2 in the league after Saturday night's 28-24 collapse at LSU. But all five of its division foes have at least one loss, a thought that provided some consolation Sunday morning. "The thing I told our football team is that there's a lot of ball left," coach Urban Meyer said. "Every team in the East has a loss. Some have two losses." The coach is correct, and the East is now split between teams with loss, singular, and losses, plural. South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee have each lost once, giving them a virtual one-game lead over two-loss Florida, Vanderbilt and Georgia.
