| Gators' pass rush still in hiding OXFORD, Miss. — What's the safest job in America? It might just be playing quarterback against Florida's defensive front. The opposing quarterback rarely gets touched, much less hit. For yet another Saturday, the Gators rushed and rushed and pretty much couldn't get to the quarterback. This time it was Mississippi's Seth Adams who benefitted from all kinds of time and walked off the field with lots of passing yards and a clean uniform at the end of the day. It's a scenario Florida coach Urban Meyer is tired of seeing. "This will cost us a game somewhere if we don't get better," Meyer said. "I never see the quarterback get hit. That's our problem (on defense)." The lack of a pass rush has placed a heavy burden on a young secondary (especially at the cornerback positions) that's not mature enough or experienced enough to handle it. With all day to throw Saturday, Adams picked apart (and picked on) UF's young cornerbacks, Joe Haden and Wondy Pierre-Louis, and true freshman safety Major Wright. In the kind of play you never saw the UF defense give up a year ago, Adams threw a 77-yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace in the third quarter that culminated a two-play, 96-yard drive.
