Florida head coach Urban Meyer has encouraged all fans to wear blue for Saturday's nationally-televised game.


"I got 150 e-mails so I did say that, but I'm not a cheerleader," Meyer said. "I think it would be kind of neat for recruiting to see that, but I'd rather take a couple of first downs."

Fans are also being encouraged to arrive early for the Gators' SEC opener. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. at The Swamp and CBS will televise the sold-out contest to a national audience.

Members of the Florida basketball team will receive their NCAA Championship rings in a ceremony on Florida Field prior to the Gators' SEC opener against Tennessee. A video honoring the first team to win back-to-back titles since 1992 will be shown prior to the ceremony.

The presentation will take approximately 21 minutes prior to kickoff and the University Athletic Association will be encouraging fans to be in their seats at 3:10 p.m. if they want to see the ceremony.

All but one member of the starting five has confirmed a return to Gainesville for the game — Lee Humphrey is currently playing in Europe and cannot make it back.

But Al Horford, Taurean Green and the last two Most Outstanding Players of the NCAA Tournament — Joakim Noah and Corey Brewer — will be back for the ceremony, as will sixth man Chris Richard.
