| Gators count on veteran o-line All over the field, Florida is inexperienced. There's a true freshman starting in the secondary. There are six new starters at linebacker and on the defensive line. The starting quarterback has never started a game, the receivers are mostly inexperienced, the running backs are unproven and the Gators also have a new kicker and punter. One area where the Gators do showcase a veteran bunch, however, is the offensive line. On a team exuding youth, Florida's big front line is the anchor. It is a group the young Gators are leaning on. Florida's offensive line of left tackle Phil Trautwein, left guard Jim Tartt, center Drew Miller, right guard Carlton Medder and right tackle Jason Watkins have combined for 65 starts. Miller, Trautwein and Medder started every game last year while Tartt started every game but one in 2006. But the Gators will open the season without Trautwein, who could miss possibly more time with a stress fracture in his foot. With Trautwein out, junior Jason Watkins will move from right to left tackle, senior Carlton Medder will move from right guard to right tackle and freshman Maurkice Pouncey will start at right guard.
