Former USC running back Emmanuel Moody said he will transfer to Florida, ESPN reported Monday."I followed my heart," Moody said, ESPN reported. "It's when you get that feeling that you know something is right and you can't really describe."
The running back rushed for 459 yards and two touchdowns last season, making him the second-leading rusher on the team. But Moody was one of nine running backs on the roster entering this season, and he said he was transferring because of that depth, ESPN reported.

No, he has to sit out this year, vince, because of the transfer. He'll return in 2008. Huge blow for North Carolina. Seemed like the Tar Heels had him all wrapped up at one point, but instead he opts to go play for Urban Meyer instead of Butch Davis. Very interesting.

so does that go for anytime you transfer, that you automatically have to sit out a year?

Most, but not all, cases. If you're transferring due to a disaster or something like that, then you can petition the NCAA and get a special waiver to play right away. But Moody's just leaving USC because the backfield got too crowded, so he'll have to sit.
