| Re: Former Gator Great Emmitt Smith Enshrined Into College Football Hall of Fame Well all know how great Emmitt was as an NFL back, but sometimes his collegiate career gets a little overlooked as a result. Howeverm Smith broke 58 school records while at Florida, gaining 3,928 yards rushing and scoring 36 touchdowns in only three seasons as a Gator. He was a 1989 All-American and won SEC Player of the Year honors that season as well. Truly a great all-around.
