Post GoTeamsGo Fantasy League Draft Reaction

Feel free to post about your surprises/let-downs concerning draft picks or just plain brag about your team .

It should be interesting to see how the top 5 or 6 rolls out.

Re: GoTeamsGo Fantasy League Draft Reaction

Being a creature of tradition and habit I passed on LJ for Peyton Manning (who at least is always steady and who I have had on most of my fantasy teams since 199...

Ended up with good receivers, but three rookie backs including Bush who I am not sold on, but who was best available back...still, too many rookie backs...ended up with the kid from New England without having Dillion as a running mate (hint, hint...willing to trade for Dillion)...and as a very, very, very, long shot DeAngelo Williams in Carolina (Deshaun is often injured) but Williams has looked lackluster this pre-season...willing to trade for Foster...though within reason...

Pundit ended up shagging Vernon Davis right from under me in round 14...which was good on his part...

If I had to do it over again...I would double think taking Ben Troupe over Chris Cooley at TE, but they will have about the same season...and should have acted on Vernon Davis before I took Jason Elam as a kicker (altitude and offense over a dome kicker???...risky???...maybe)

Very tempted to pick up Priest Holmes and pray to the fickled gods of football for devine healing...

As for Pundit, what's it going to take to pry Vernon Davis or your 4th back (Tatum Bell) from your grubby little hands...I think you are weak at receiver...

Everyone did a good job...Simple Simon did a good job for this being his first league also...he beat me to a few late picks...

Too bad you didn't draft LJ Gotham, we could have worked out something. I'll take a look at your roster and see what I need. Weak at receiver? Randy Moss and Darrell Jackson starting with Rod Smith and Drew Bennett in reserve? I don't think that's too shabby actually. I might be a bit weak at QB with Warner, Breeze, and Favre. Since I've been talking about Jacksonville on the boards, I felt it my duty to take their D.

I thought Moss was a good pick when I saw you take him. I have never been sold on Jackson but he will get you 1,000 yards...the wheels are about to come off on Smith though getting rid of Lelie helps...and I took a long hard look at Bennett (especially since Volek favors him)...but I am not so sure we will see the Drew Bennett who had the big career year a few years ago...

I don't think you have depth there that's all...and I am looking to trade for your 4th back or backup TE...so its not a bad take...

At QB you are okay, its just betting on who will have the good week that is going to be an issue...you have quarterback by committee... I would offer you Vick, but I don't think he is your cup of tee...

I really like to talk about Tatum Bell...mostly cause I locked up Ron Dayne and it will be one or the other...I think at best he is an insurance policy in your offense...I doubt that even if your 1 or 2 go out, that you would start him over Dunn.

Re: GoTeamsGo Fantasy League Draft Reaction

Even though I was unable to make the Draft yesterday, I ended up with a handful of great players. I just wanted to let Gotham Dark Knight know that I have Corey Dillion and I am willing to place him on the table if you give me what I want. To tell you guys the truth, I got a lot of running-backs. Tiki Barber, Edgerrin James, Cedric Benson, Corey Dillon and Dominic Rhodes. If any of you are interested, feel free to send me a private-message and I'll consider your offers.

I am interested in acquiring a wide-reciever and as a last resort, a quarterback. I think Daunte Culpepper and Mark Brunell are set for the regular season but I could use some insurance just in case.

I'll give you guys a scoop of what is going on behind the closed doors of my organization, as long as I don't lend away any top-secret information.

I was just wondering how come you guys picked guys like Brian Westbrook and Steven Jackson before Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson.

Good luck to you all.

I took Mike Bell after hearing he was named the starter by Shanahan. However, everyone knows he switches RBs like women do clothes. In seriousness though, I'm placing my cards on either Mike Bell or TJ Duckett (got him late) to have a better than expected season. My main RBs will be Ronnie Brown and Lamont Jordan so I'm pretty satisfied there.

I'm not as satisfied with my wideouts. After Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason (who I expect to have a good year with McNair in Baltimore), I only took Matt Jones of Jacksonville. I'll probably look to get another wideout early in the year.

I drafted so I had back-ups at each position, namely when it came time for bye weeks. After the first quarter of the year, I'll look to stock up on skill-position players.

Gotham, you sure do have a nice squad. Assuming Owens is healthy, the only position you may have some problems is running back. It should be interesting to see how Bush produces under Sean Payton's new regime.

Re: GoTeamsGo Fantasy League Draft Reaction

Gotham Dark Knight has Reggie Bush? I like what I'm hearing, here. I think if we work together, Gotham Dark Knight, we should be able to strike a deal as soon as possible. In the meantime, I'll get started by sending you a trade proposal when I get a chance.

In the meantime, why don't you all make your early-bird predictions for Week One of the NFL Season at our brand-new site. I am sorry that we had to switch the websites, but too many members were reporting problems about the form I was using. If you have already placed your picks on the Xanga version of the site, you must re-do your picks on this site. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

thanks dude, much appreciated

i was honestly nervous i would do something stupid, then have to come back here all season long and hear about it

i think i am sitting real well for the season

so many people talked about how much TO will catch and even terry glenn, so i thought heck if they are getting so many catches bledsoe should be a good QB to have.....seemed to make sense

gotta be happy i got LT and Vinatieri

the defense stumped me a little....1st i was thinking which teams won alot like Cinci, but then realized they scored alot to win because they gave up alot....so i thought the Steelers would be good

some of the picks some of you made stumped me......seemed some of you took part time players........like reggie bush and corey dillon.....i didnt get that, i mean they are real good backs but id rather have a full-time starter

My squad is not bad...I might pay for by passing LJ...finally took a defense early (Bears in the 7th round)...my wideouts are set...I can however trade either Lav Cole or Donte Stallworth, and one of my rookie backs for a more stable 3rd back...

I got Willis Mcgahee and Reggie Bush and I just don't see them as a great 1-2 punch...I am hoping Reggie can catch enough passes to get me 1,200 total yards...

SS, when I took Reggie Bush he was "Best Available back"...the sure starters had all left...I would be happy with 600 yards on the ground and 600 yards receiving from Reggie...Last year I had Caddie and Ronnie Brown...and Brown had a good year despite Ricky Williams...so I think Reggie will get me 1,000-1,200 total yards...
