I just started up a league for anyone interested here at GTG. It's a free yahoo league so all you have to do (if you haven't one already) is sign up and register. Remember, it's all free and for fun.

To sign up, go to the fantasy football page and create a team (or just click this link). Click on join a custom league.

Right now, the maximum amount of teams is 12. The online draft date is set for Wednesday, August 23 at 2:30 PM Eastern. If you'd like it at a different date/time, just say and we'll make adjustments. Once you join, you can check out all the league settings and point totals and let me know if you feel something should be changed.

Rosters are the following...

Starters: 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 WR/RB, 1 K, 1 DEF and 6
Bench: 6 available spots

These are usually fun as long as people stay active, so come join

Did you set this up to do the draft on-line and be "present" for the draft? Work may preclude me from particpating. Please let me know.

Well the draft is an online one. Although if you can't make it, you can pre-rank the players and the CPU will draft for you.

If there's a problem with the draft time, just let me know and once the league fills up, we'll see what we can do.

glad someone stepped up to the plate to cover for my incompetence

as for the draft my schedule is also slightly erratic, i think it will be unlikely we will be able to suit everyones schedule

i may have a slight consolation: what does the league do with the left over players ?

with only 12 teams there will be plenty left over, if they are put in an available pool, i would think anyone that has to do auto-draft should get first crack to trade for them (if thats how it works)

and due to this i would think the rest of the members that could live draft should approve the trades no questions asked as a show of fairness

it wont be the same as being there live, but atleast you can set your team potentially a little better

just a thought

I just registered for the league, signing up as The Gladiators. I noticed all the unique and creative names (example: ThePundits, The Simple Simons). Could you guys add a little more effort to your team names next time? Not to plant a bad impression or anything, but I don't want you guys to feel depressed when I win the league. Be prepared!

personally i liked the forum type names, i thought it made it easy to keep track of who is who

That's weird Lefty, we only have 6 teams at the moment. Try again and let me know if it gives you the same problem.
