Re: 2007 GoTeamsGo Fantasy Football League

The league favors the running backs by a wide margin...since they can both run and receive...I would adjust the QB rating some...or with a 20 team league, it is just favoring the few teams 6-10 or so that can draft an elite back...

Look for more of a balance between the ratings...

I just went with Yahoo's default rules, but if everyone agrees, they can be tweaked.

Well, Yahoo had the league ready to go, and I was looking forward to doing/discussing something football related that didn't belong on a police blotter.

Um, because Gotham was the only one who showed up last time we tried a live draft?

Really? OK, cause I got the impression that Goth was the only one at the baseball draft.

Re: 2007 GoTeamsGo Fantasy Football League

you know without sounding completely stupid, could someone explain to me what the difference between a live and auto draft is when it comes to fantasy leagues? i mean the other fantasy leagues ive done its just been a simple case of picking players and you have a salary cap to keep under, ive never come across drafts

Well, in this kind of league, there's no salary cap. We draft like an actual NFL draft, meaning when someone takes Peyton Manning or LaDanian Tomlinson, they're off the board. A live draft, we all get online at the same time and go through the process of selecting our players round by round. In an autodraft, we just prerank them and the computer drafts for each of us.

Re: 2007 GoTeamsGo Fantasy Football League

i see, so would that mean that we would be left with basiaclly one starting offense for the entire season? i mean im assuming we can do things like trade up and down and things like that during the draft but at the end of draft day does that mean the players we have are the ones we get left with for the remainder of the season?

No, I don't think you can trade draft picks - you can trade players though. Plus you can cut players, add new ones and you normally have some bench players on your roster (useful for starters bye weeks). Otherwise, yeah, you pretty much run with the same team all season.

Re: 2007 GoTeamsGo Fantasy Football League

ok so if u were to cut a player then you could only replace them from someone from your bench or someone from free agency? e.g. who ever is left over from the draft?

Right, cutting a player opens a roster spot, which you normally fill via free-agency. Sometimes, despending on the league, some good players go left undrafted. Of course, if we actually wind up with 20 teams... good luck.
