Frank Gore, Fantasy Stud?

Prior to the season kick-off, most of the national fantasy guys (from ESPN, Yahoo, etc.) were favoring Frank Gore for some odd reason. Then in the opening game of the year, he has a pretty good game (just under 100 yards and a pair of scores). He is the starting back for the Niners without a guy like Barlow to take away a good number of touches.

So, is Gore going to keep continue his good week 1 performance? I sure hope so because I have him in a couple of leagues and he seems to be a quiet sleeper.

Re: Frank Gore, Fantasy Stud?

The 49ers will use him a lot since they don't have a strong passing-game.

Re: Frank Gore, Fantasy Stud?

But then it becomes a double whammy if the 49ers are playing from behind in most games. Then they probably won't run the ball as much as they pass it.

Aaron Smith had a good first game, though. We will have to wait to really distinguish their game stradegy. I feel like I'm an NFL Scout.

See...I am of the same mind on this...Alex Smith and Vernon Davis will more likely benefit from the 49er furtune than Gore.

Cool Re: Frank Gore, Fantasy Stud?

Anytime a running back is the only back, it's a huge plus so based on that alone, Gore should have a good year.
