| Dont reach for rookie running backs Last year's class of rookie running backs were awesome. Three of them had over 1,200 rushing yards, eight had at least five touchdowns But every year is different and that doesnt mean this year's class will be the same. Read to find out more. 2009 Draft Prep: Don't reach for rookie RBs - NFL 2009 Draft Prep: Don't reach for rookie RBs : FantasyNews.CBSSports.com

| Re: Dont reach for rookie running backs Moreno will get his carries...and will have a good second half... The thing with rookie backs is to get them low if you can...and keep them (if you can ) for a second half run...even Emmitt Smith only got a handful of carries the 1st two game...but...he held out during the pre-season I beleive..

| Re: Dont reach for rookie running backs For right now...but that doesn't matter...the NFL really has gone to a two back system...and rookies get way more touches after 5-6 games...the Broncos and the Cardinals don't have elite runners in front of Moreno and Wells either...those two will get at least 225 to 250 touches this year... |

McCoy'll be one of the top 3 rookies at the end of the year. Wells I'm not completely sold on, but might also make it. Crabtree is another question mark (tho not a running back) who has the potential... It's gonna be an exciting season with a good group of rookies, and waiting to see which sizzling sophomores flame out and which don't.

| Re: Dont reach for rookie running backs I don't think it's how big/sturdy his frame is, but how big his heart is. If he "wants" it, he'll find a way to get it. Naw come on RD...in the NFL, durability is a must...compare McCoy to say Tony Dorsett...similar built and speed...but Dorsett played in an era where linemen were 250 lbs...in today's NFL you need a better frame than that. McCoy'll be one of the top 3 rookies at the end of the year. We will see...I personally wouldn't take a flyer on him just yet. Wells I'm not completely sold on, but might also make it. Crabtree is another question mark (tho not a running back) who has the potential... If Crabtree plays, I do not see a question mark, but I do not see better than a 50 catch 875 yards year either. It's gonna be an exciting season with a good group of rookies, and waiting to see which sizzling sophomores flame out and which don't. |
