Pat Neshek, Twins Reliever

Minnesota Twins phenom rookie reliever, Pat Neshek only came up to the big leagues recently and has acrued just over 23 innings. However, he has shown to be quite the great set-up man for Joe Nathan. His stat line reads...

23.2 IP
3 wins
9 hits
3 earned runs (on 3 home runs)
3 walks
34 strikeouts
1.14 ERA

He should still be available in your fantasy leagues (as they approach the playoffs) and he seems to be a guy you can go to for innings and strikeouts.

Just a heads up.

Re: Pat Neshek, Twins Reliever

Thanks for providing us a fantasy look-out, EmpireWF. I think that my fantasy baseball team is set in first place with a history of losing in the World Series for the past two years to the same team. It is always depressing to lose after a hard season of work but this year I am optimistic because of Joe Mauer and Albert Pujols. These two top players should be able to lead my team all the way as long as Mariano Rivera doesn't blow any important saves.

From my opinion, Neshek could be the player that can help your team reach the Playoffs if you are trailing behind only a few games. 3 hits per game is an outstanding record, especially for a rookie. I'll keep my eye on him for next year when the Rookie Draft begins.

Thanks again, for the update.

His numbers certainly are good Empire but he doesn't pitch enough to make enough of a dent in the numbers and in most leagues, doesn't justify a roster spot. If there were the "HOLDS" category, it would be a different story.

Re: Pat Neshek, Twins Reliever

It is a good start. Lets see how well those statistics are when you mix it up with 70+ innings pitched. If he continues on pace, he would be excellent. Perhaps, he will be able to add those innings this post-season if the Twins make the cut. He is just what the needed right now to give them a lift.
