Empire: Although your starting pitching is solid, I wouldn't trade Peavy for 2 closers. Peavy is a top line starter. Do you have any other needs? Like slugging % or anything? If I were you and you can spare a starter, I would look for who you want on other teams rosters and you propose a deal to someone. Just my 2 cents.

What kind of scoring system do you have?...its it a basic 5x5? |

Re: Help! Should I trade... Even though Jake Peavy may be off to a bad start, I think he will be able to turn it around. You should keep onto Peavy because he should finish with at least 15 wins this season.

Re: Help! Should I trade... In the league I was in closers usually got most of the points so I would jump at the trade despite Street's high ERA. It really depends on your scoring though. Analyze your system and make your best judgement. Me? Id do it.

Re: Help! Should I trade... Here are some notes that you might want to take into consideration. First of all, closers appear in more games than starting pitchers do. But they play in less innings overall. It is your choice if you want to pull the trigger. Personally, I'd try to make a counter offer where he throws in a starting-pitcher.

Re: Help! Should I trade... I agree with Gotham Dark Knight. I for one don't really encourage uneven trading procedures. Personally, I like having even trades because I feel like everyone is getting a fair deal.

Re: Help! Should I trade... I used the word "fair" in my opinion. I see your point, Gotham Dark Knight. I would too try to get as much out of a deal as possible but in reason. If you ask for too much then they might reject it and close all discussions about the trade. That happened to me a few years ago. It was a dark and stormy night in June of 2003. I was hooked on my computer like a zombie looking for someone to haunt. I clicked my mouse quietly to avoid making a sound that could disturb the deceased...alright, enough with the scary stories. Anyway, I was offered Jimmy Rollins, Tino Martinez and Morgan Ensberg for Tom Glavine and Rocco Baldelli (in his rookie season). I was planning to go after his Albert Pujols but he told me that if I threw in one more player he would forget about the deal. I accepted the deal (of course) and traded away Tino Martinez immediatly for some future draft picks which I used on Kazuo Matsui. Now when I look back at that deal, was it good that I accepted it?

Re: Help! Should I trade... Peavy is getting his act together this season. He was off to a bad start this year, but has been hot lately (1-2 record, 2.16 in last 25IP). His record is 3-5 this season. How many wins do you think he will finish with?
