Cool Rate the Trade...

Okay so me and Wedge are on this Fantasy League and we are talking tradetrade...(I like to wheel and deal just to shake things up)...

I am sending Todd Helton and Jake Peavy over for Pujols and Marquis...Sure I am giving up Peavy who is a horse...but Pujols fits in nice with a team that already has A-Rod, Bonds, Ichiro, and Sexson...

I normally don't pay attention to pitching until after 15 games or so into the season...

So come on guys rate the trade?...Is Wedge taking me on the deal?

Re: Rate the Trade...

I think you got the best of this deal. Pitching is so up and down from year to year. A stud like Pujols is a much safer bet than a pitcher like Peavy. There are always plenty of servicable pitchers you can pick up as the season goes along but it is harder to come by hitters, esp. one of the best in the league. Helton's skills are diminishing so you aren't giving up much offense here either.

I am with you Cool...I normally take Wedge on these type of deals, that's why I got 3 league trophies and he don't...of course he kicks my butt in Football...were I have lost 4 Super Bowls in the past 5 years ...

Thanks Cool I need to hear I was on the right track...

Definitely a good deal, Gotham. Like the good doctor says, you can never predict hot pitchers from season to season, while a guy like Pujols is pretty much a lock to be lights out, barring injury.

Lefty your word is gold my man. You being the undisputed heavyweight poster on this board...now I better go hit the accept button on the trade before Wedge weasles out...

Re: Rate the Trade...

I am in need of pitching and since I have plenty of hitting (IRod, Soriano, Chipper Jones, Griffey Jr, Sheffield, Ryan Howard, Furcal), I thought I couldve give up a little to get it.

Yes, Wedge...it will teach us to remember when the draft date is

Cool Re: Rate the Trade...

Opening Day, Pujols 2 homers 4 RBIs...worth every piece of that trade...

Re: Rate the Trade...

Any trade that brings back Pujols is a great trade. Just why the other guy wants to get rid of him is crazy.

he got Peavey and Helton out of it...he needed pitching, and has a solid hitters line-up...so he gambled.

Re: Rate the Trade...

Nevertheless, I wouldn't give Pujols up unless I was getting a series of equally dominant players.
