The Oilers traded him 3 years back for soon to be unrestricted free agent Brian leetch. Oilers wanted Leetch because they knew they could get the compensatory draft pick after Leetch signed with someone else (and he ended up back with the rangers).
The Oilers ended up with Markanen again, after they traded Salo to Colorado and found themselevs in need of another goalie. so they brought Markkanen back in a deal that included nedved from the rangers.
Markkanen says he didn't take any of this personally. Conklin's been there all along.
And they pick up Roloson just before the trade deadline this year.

Wow that was a mouth full...but Getting to the finals cures some ills...and winning it will justify everything.

If they can do it - if they can play like they did last game - and the fans keep up the noise - man that would be exciting. cause going back to carolina 3 and 1 would be deadly.

blueandwhite you are dreamin. I mean when are you going to finally realize that there is no way on earth that the Oilers are gonna beat the 'Canes. Markkanen's path to the cup? PLEEEZE...its more like the path back to Carolina for his swan song. Yeah the crowd was loud but you need more than that to beat Recchi, Stillman, Staal, Brindamour, Williams and Hedekin, not to mention WARD. Give it up blueandwhite...the Oilers are history.
