it's crazy in Edmonton

street signs were burnt, fireworks were set off, fans started beating each other up, police showed up in riot gear. If this is how they celebrate getting there, what might they do if they win?
hey did you know the oilers didn't play the Hurricanes at all this season?

Re: it's crazy in Edmonton

I always had mixed feeling about Michael Peca. Especially with a last name like "Peca".

Yes, ThePundit. Thank you for sharing that awesome photo with us. I have got some more good photos to add to this small collection.

Fans should get into the penalty box for that one!

Ouch! That is kung-fu hockey!

Ouch! That is good for a trip to the hospital!

Re: it's crazy in Edmonton

back in 92 93, when the jays won their first pennant, I was working downtownToronto and came out around 2 in the morning with workmates, and we walked up yonge street - it would have been impossible to get a cab - but who wanted one? It was an amazing show of city pride. maybe some drunkenness- okay for sure drunkenness, but no violence, no fires, no fights, no cops in battle fatigue. It was pure euphoria.

Re: it's crazy in Edmonton

Yeah, it's always just about love in toronto.
Mind you, it was baseball. maybe if we were to get anywhere in hockey, we'd be as crazy as the albertans too.
I don't think so, though. i think we'd all walk around with stunned smiles on our faces, pinching ourselves.

Cool Re: it's crazy in Edmonton

Just as an aside, Raffi Torres who scored a key goal the other night, came to Edmonton courtesy of Mike Milbury. A couple of years ago at the trade deadline, he traded Torres(a former first round pick), and Brad Isbister for the the medicore defenseman Janne Jinnama who's not even on the team anymore.
