Duke QB Zack Asack

Just got done reading up on the Duke spring football game, and apparently they've got a real rising star at quarterback, sophomore Zack Asack.

According to an April 24 article by Matthew Iles of The Chronicle, Asack "showed increased composure leading the Blue Devils' attack...In the 7-on-7 passing skeletons before the full-contact scrimmage, Asack connected for three touchdowns on three consecutive plays from 20 yards out. Building on that, Asack said he felt comfortable throughout the simulated game."

Still, the Blue Devils are in a tough conference. No matter how good this kid is, its hard to believe that Duke will be seriously competitive in the ACC this season. What do you guys think?

Yikes! That can't help. So is Duke football gonna suck this year or have a decent record? Any Duke fans out there who can help fill us in?

Well, maybe it won't hurt as much as it seems. According to Street & Smiths, Asack wasn't a shoo-in to start anyway: "(Duke coach Ted) Roof hasn't handed the starting job to Asack yet. Also in the mix is sophomore Marcus Jones, who played both QB and wideout last season." So now I'm guessing that Jones definitely going to start under center for the Blue Devils. How good is he? Better or worse than Asack?

Zacks my cuz and hes better then that starting qb u have now who sucks have asack start and you'll see a difference

Thaddeus Lewis is a great QB. He gives the Blue Devils the best chance to win (which is a small chance).

Yeah, it's funny that Lewis wasn't even in the initial discussion.

Guess Asack should've done his homework, cause he ain't never getting back in the lineup now.
