Redick Player of the Year

J.J. Redick has been named the 2006 Player of the Year by the Sporting News.

Quote:
Redick has had a banner season to cap off his collegiate career. While averaging 27.8 points per game, he set the all-time scoring record in both school and ACC history and led the Blue Devils to another regular season and ACC title.

What do you guys think of this? Did Redick deserve the honor?

Well, I think you'd be better off finding a reason he doesn't deserve it. He clearly was the leader on the Blue Devils team. The Blue Devils started and ended the season ranked number one and also won the ACC Tournament.

Re: Redick Player of the Year

How good does a player have to be? If he doesn't deserve who does? Maybe the press can dig up some scandal about him to strip this award away. I mean maybe he went to Mexico on spring break or something and had a few drinks. That should be enough for the media to destroy him.

Re: Redick Player of the Year

I agree, but I just wanted to see if there were any Adam Morrison supporters around here.

Re: Redick Player of the Year

Redick has also taken home the AP Player of the Year award, becoming the record sixth Duke player to win the honor. He received 43 votes from the 72-member panel, while Morrison was second with 29 votes. Those two were the only players to receive votes.
