Redick could break record Sunday

J.J. Redick, already the top 3-point shooter in Duke, ACC and NCAA history, could break the Blue Devil's record for most career points on Sunday vs. Miami. Redick has 2,527. With 25 points, he takes over 3rd place all-time in the ACC, and with 29 points, he will break Johnny Dawkin's all-time school mark of 2,556. Plus, he comes into the game having scored 30 or more points in 4 straight contests. Looks like that record's about to fall!

If not on Sunday, more than likely the next game after that. He is a great player, no doubt. Do you think he will carry Duke to a National Title, or will they get knocked off my someone like UConn??

I gave up on predicting March Madness years ago. There's 64 teams and way too many chances for upsets along the way. Anything can happen. It truly is the most wide open championship in sports, if you ask me.

But back to Redick for a second. I did some digging and found that the ACC's All-Time leading scored is currently Dickie Hemric, who scored 2,587 points with Wake Forest from 1952-55. With Miami today and games against Georgia Tech, Temple, Florida State and North Carolina still to come, its quite likely he will end his career as the No. 1 scorer in ACC history. However, I think its safe to say that Pete Maravich's Division I record of 3,667 career points is in no danger at this point.

Redick broke the record today against Miami with 30 points. Another great peformance. I cant wait to see what he can do in March when the defense really tightens up.

So for the record, how high is this Redick fellow going to go in the draft...all I know is what Wedge tells me about him...and I actually saw him can a shot from an ungodly range...so top 10...top 20...or second round?

He's a projected top 10 pick, but who knows after draft camps, who declared and so on. There are a lot of factors still up in the air. He should, at the very least, be a solid top 20 pick.
