Could Duke go winless?

How bad can it get for the Duke Blue Devils football program? Last Saturday, they fell to 0-1 with a 13-0 loss, at home, to RICHMOND! That's right, the Division I-AA Spiders spanked the Blue Devils at Wallace Wade stadium. This weekend, they travel to Wake Forest before visiting Virginia Tech. I'd have to predict that, after getting shut out by a D I-AA school on their own home turf, this team's going to finish the season winless. Do you agree?

Re: Could Duke go winless?

Duke falls to 0-2 with today's 14-13 loss to Wake Forest. They actually took a six-point lead into the fourth quarter, but Micah Andrews of the Demon Deacons scored on a two-yard TD run and Sam Swank's extra point put Wake up for good with less than 1:30 left in the game. On the bright side, QB Thaddeus Lewis threw for 303 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort. Again, I can't help but wonder - if the Blue Devlis can't beat Richmond or Wake Forest, what hope do they have of winning a single game in 2006?

Whew... ugly loss again yesterday, 37-0 to Virginia, to drop the Blue Devils to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the ACC. How bad was it? Duke managed just 59 rushing yards on the game, surrendered eight sacks and turned the ball over five times. Gonna be a long, long season for Duke football fans.
