| Detroit Tops Washington Wilkin Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in, as the Detroit Tigers topped the Washington Nationals, 3-0, in spring training action.
Alfredo Figaro threw three scoreless innings in the start for Detroit, as he allowed only two hits and struck out one. The Tigers bullpen completed the shutout, with Juan Rincon grabbing the win for tossing a perfect fifth inning, and Casey Fien throwing two frames. Fernando Rodney, Clay Rapada and Scott Williamson each pitched an inning of relief.
Nationals starter Collin Balester also allowed two hits in three scoreless innings, but walked three. Gustavo Chacin took the loss after giving up two runs on a hit and three walks in 2 1/3 innings. Anderson Hernandez had two of Washington's seven hits. |
