Tigers' Placido Polanco Injured The Detroit Tigers' 2B, Placido Polanco injured himself while diving for a pop-up last night versus the Red Sox. He'll undergo extensive tests later today but early indications say he will be out "indefinitely." This is some form of a hit since Polanco has been pretty steady for the Tigers in 2006. With the fight for the division heating up, this couldn't come at a worse time.

| Re: Tigers' Placido Polanco Injured Definite hit to my fantasy baseball team, that's for sure. He's been a solid performer this season, but fantasy wise and for the Tigers, so hopefully he won't be out too long. The Detroit story's been one of the great plotlines of the 2006 season, and Polanco's been a pretty big part of it.

Re: Tigers' Placido Polanco Injured I didn't see the play in which he was injured. My main question is: Did he look fine after he got up from the dive or did he look as if someone broke his arms? To tell you the truth, I've never seen anybody with two broken arms at once. If Polanco sits for the season, this would be a crucial hit to the organization.

Re: Tigers' Placido Polanco Injured I just found out that this shoulder injury forced Ivan Rodriguez to play second-base. In your opinion, do you think Rodriguez has a future as a second-baseman or should he stick at catcher?

Re: Tigers' Placido Polanco Injured I didn't see the game. Thanks for your opinion on the play though, EmpireWF. Reports confirmed that Polanco has been placed on the 15-day DL with a seperated left shoulder. There are numerous rumors that Polanco may be out for the rest of the season, but none of them have been truthful, yet. Last night, was his first time playing second-base in his career. In two innings at second, his only move was catching popup behind first base. Fantasy reports claim that Rodriguez is more valuable as a catcher, but his time at second-base will help fantasy owners with their line-ups in the future.
