Leyland rips Tigers. Again.

Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland, whose team is 10-8 and second in the AL Central, launched into a tirade in an attempt to motivate his team. Again. Just like he did last season. It worked then, and it appears to be working now, as the Tigers went out today and beat the White Sox, 6-5, in 12 innings. Clearly Leyland was ripping into the defending AL Champs trying to get them motivated. Will it be as effective this year as it was in 2006?

Re: Leyland rips Tigers. Again.

Now that Sheffield is on board, he will have a harder time getting his old school message to this group.

Re: Leyland rips Tigers. Again.

Detroit was 10-8 when Leyland went off. They're 12-9 now. So far, no noticable effect, it would seem.
