According to the Assoicated Press, "Shortstop Carlos Guillen and the Detroit Tigers agreed Friday to a $48 million, four-year contract extension through the 2011 season... Guillen is making $5 million this season, the last of a $14 million, three-year deal. He hit .320 last year with 19 homers, 85 RBIs, 41 doubles and 100 runs scored." So, is re-signing him a good move?

Obviously a good move keeping a quality player like that.

But back to the high MLB contracts issue again, $12 Mil per year for a short stop with numbers like those? Granted, they are good but it's not like he's A-Rod or one of the best players in the game.

I guess $12 mil per year is on the low end of the spectrum considering.
