Gary Sheffield

How do you guys think Sheffield is going to do this year? I hear that his wrist is as healthy as it ever was and he was able to do all of his offseason training. So what do you think his numbers are going to be?

Re: Gary Sheffield

If he's healthy, I'll be interested in seeing how his power numbers change in the big Detroit ballpark.

I may be looking for more doubles and extra base hits than another 40+ HR season.

Cool Re: Gary Sheffield

As much as I can't stand the guy, he has really come on and is having a heck of a year:

.303
21HR
58RBI's
78 runs
12 SB

But let's see what he does in the post-season. Maybe he'll hit lower than that .048 he did with the Yankees.

everyone was saying he'd suck this year, no one listened to me when I said to keep him in fantasy, he will keep his hitting up all season including playoffs,im projecting 48 hrs and 124 rbis. I think he was the key pickup that will help them come playoff time, it doesnt hurt that maggs is hitting outstanding as well..

Re: Gary Sheffield

I don't think lack of hitting was the reason they lost last year. It was poor fielding. What did their pitchers have 5 errors? You can't play the best and expect to win with that sort of performance.

I was one of the people saying Sheffield may be done. He is proving me wrong this year.
