The Tigers would be nuts if they traded Bonderman for a hitter. They should learn a lesson from the Red Sox and the Bronson Arroyo for Willie Mo Pena deal. Never trade a young pitcher who throws hard for a hitter. Good pitchers are too hard to come and good hitters are a dime a dozen.

Re: Will Tigers Trade Bonderman? You have a valid point about the Tigers' youth compared to success. However, what happens if the Tigers resume to their losing years? Nothing is for sure in baseball. Look at the Cleveland Indians, for example. I have heard rumors that the Boston Red Sox will be shopping Manny Ramirez. If the Tigers can execute a deal to bring Ramirez over to Detroit for Jeremy Bonderman, I would agree in a split-second.

Re: Will Tigers Trade Bonderman? There will be a HUGE market for Bonderman, if the Tigers decide they want to trade him for some power. The Yanks, Red Sox, Mets, Jays, White Sox, Rangers, and Reds will all be interested in Bonderman. And, yeah- Detroit would be nuts to trade him away.

Re: Will Tigers Trade Bonderman? I don't see Bonderman going anywhere. His only current defect as a starting pitcher is that he doesn't have a good change of pace. It seems to me that that's one of the easier problems to overcome for a really talented pitcher. Another thing to consider is that the Tigers aren't so pitching-rich that they can easily get rid of a talented young pitcher when they can't be sure about the future of Kenny Rogers. Rogers is 41 now, and he had a great postseason for the first time in his career. But, at that age, his future has to be somewhat limited. The Tigers will be wise to satisfy their power needs from within the organization for at least another season, it seems to me.
