| World Series Game 2: Cardinals vs. Tigers Thanks to rookie Anthony Reyes, the NL champion Cardinals were able to take a 1-0 series lead last night. This evening, they will look to take two in Detroit, as St. Louis and the AL champion Tigers are scheduled to square off starting at 8:23 pm EDT. I say scheduled to because currently it is raining and 48 degrees in the Motor City. The pitching matchup features Detroit P Kenny Rogers (17-8, 3.84 ERA, 99 K, 62 BB) against the Cards' Jeff Weaver (8-14, 5.76 ERA, 107 K, 47 BB). According to the Associated Press, "Rogers has been arguably the most dominant pitcher on any team this postseason. He scattered five hits and struck out eight over 7 2-3 innings during a 6-0 win over the Yankees in Game 2 of the AL division series. Facing Oakland a week later in Game 3 of the AL championship series, Rogers yielded just two hits and fanned six in 7 1-3 innings of a 3-0 victory." So can Kenny Rogers keep the Tigers from going down 2-0 before travelling to St. Louis? Make your predictions now, as this may be one of your last chances to enter our BIG $300 TICKET CONTEST! And don't forget to stop by during and after the game to chat about the 2006 World Series!

| Re: World Series Game 2: Cardinals vs. Tigers I'm with you, snooker, in that it'll be a hitters game, not the pitchers duel one would expect from a Rogers - Suppan match-up. But I'm going with the Cardinals to win this one by the final score of 6-4. |

| Re: World Series Game 2: Cardinals vs. Tigers Tigers are getting to Suppan early. Monroe homered with one out, then Ordonez singled with two down. Guillen doubled to drive him in, and Detroit takes a 2-0 lead into the top of the 2nd inning. |

I found it really gratifying to see him demonstrating at last what he can do in a big game! (Not that he never has before, of course, but still...) Waytago, oldtimer! Show them young pups ya still got what it takes! |
