| Re: Snow In Detroit See, what they do is they get a bunch of hairdryers, and... Seriously, does anyone honestly believe that baseball has a PLAN for snow? I would be very surprised if Selig thought that far ahead. If the season's going to go this late in the year, there needs to be some indoor sites ready to go in case of inclimate weather. Play in the Silverdome!

| Re: Snow In Detroit Lefty: The Silverdome, which has been out of the sports business for about three years now, is not configured for baseball. It was intended to be a football stadium, so it would require massive alteration (requiring significant time) to become a suitable baseball venue. And, that assumes it is still intact from the last time it was used for a sporting event. I don't know the answer to that, one way or the other. |

| Re: Snow In Detroit Yeah, but if MLB was thinking ahead, they could've started getting it ready. By no means would it be idea, but it sure beats cancelling a week's worth of World Series games should a blizzard hit Michigan, you know? Ideally, baseball just needs to cut some games somewhere and shorten the season/playoffs by a good 2-3 weeks. |

| Re: Snow In Detroit Another significant problem the team would have, once the final configuration of the Silverdome was in place, would be how to distribute tickets in such a way that fans would feel like they had been treated fairly. Other ancillary problems would include hiring parking lot personnel, ushers, grounds crews, and ticket takers. That would, of course, require some time to do. With an enclosed building like the Silverdome, the team would have to screen every prospective employee so as to avoid inadvertently hiring a terrorist. Frankly, I don't think it can all be done by Saturday. |

| Re: Snow In Detroit I seriously doubt that would happen. Let's let the thing play itself out. Who knows, the weather might turn out to be perfect. (Not likely, but we can always dream.) If they had to move the site of the game, Milwaukee might be a viable option. |

im really curious what they would do if a World Series week was snowed out heck they just got 19 inches of the white stuff in Buffalo, so it doesnt seem an absurd proposition |

| Re: Snow In Detroit Partly cloudy and mid-50's forcasted for this weekend in Detroit. Our questions may have to wait to be answered.... Didn't it snow in Cleveland in '97's Series? Those games weren't cancelled or even postponed. |

| Re: Snow In Detroit Haha, that's right....the all-weather player certainly has an advantage under those circumstances. The Marlins made most of the errors in the games held at Jacobs Field (pansy Florida boys....just kidding). |

alot of northern teams always have to start the season on the road because of the weather during the early start they should lower the season to 100 games maybe ? 50 on each side of the All-Star game just a thought |
