Could Nicklas Lidstrom be the next captain of the Detroit Red Wings? Most likely, but according to the Detroit News, "that hasn't been decided. The Wings refuted media reports Wednesday that Lidstrom will be named captain of the Wings before training camp opens in September." So will Lidstrom be the next Detroit captain and, if so, is he the right choice?

I'd give to one of the new kids...Datysuk (spelling?) or Zetterberg...Lindstrom is great, but his era is up...

I say lidstrom. Yeah, he's older, but people respect him and he deserves it, now that yzerman finally retired. He'll only hold it for a year or so, then a young guy can take it. On any other team, he would have had the C on his shirt long before now.

Come on blueandwhite girl...lets go with the youth movement here...lets get it going early...Lidstrom has had his day (it was at the same tiem as Stevie Y)...time for a changing of the guard...for a new kid to step up...

They felt sorry for him...its like when they give the Oscar for career achievement...the guy is on his last pair of good skates...doesn't have a good season in him...

See, it would do him no good to race a guy who wobbles on his skates and who is going to fall on his face by the red line...I mean if the guy is willing to call that a victory...there is no help for him (and here I thought you would cheer for me... )
