Re: Red Wings sign Hasek You naysayers...let the 40 yearold have his last days of glory...I think Hasek still has it in him...might not have more than one year, but I give him the benefit of the doubt till he proves me wrong.

Re: Red Wings sign Hasek so correct my previous note - he is 41. Funniest line in today's article about it is when the reporter writes in the Toronto star that, "Both sides know they'll have to carefully manage his groin problems..." So that's why he picked Detroit. Sounds like a body rub to me. Hasek says he was taken by surprise by all this. Article also mentions that, the way the Wings have budgeted, they still have room for a forward now and a possible goalie before trade deadline ie when Hasek falls to the ice and can't get up. Legace is being blamed for being out in the first round to Edmonton (who were ON FIRE) even though he had a 37-8-3 record last season with a 2.10 goals against.

Re: Red Wings sign Hasek it's that 'let's find a patsy, get rid of him and bring morale back up' theory. Like the whole Kennedy/Oswald thing. There's no way Legace lost it for them. Maybe some of their old guys contributed as well. I know they were shocked to be out in the first round, but crap - they were playing Edmonton. I'm going to make up some t-shirts: LEGACE CAN MIND MY NET. Or something like that.
