Steve Yzerman retires

Or, at least, the Detroit Redwings captain is supposed to retire at a press conference this afternoon, according to the Canadian Press. Yzerman, 41, leaves the game with 692 goals and 1063 assists for 1,755 points - good for sixth all-time - in 1,514 career games. How does Detroit replace a guy like this?

You can't replace him...but behind every Dimaggio there comes a Mantle...they will be other stars for this Original Six team

Re: Steve Yzerman retires

I love your Dimaggio line.
Please retire, Stevie Y, and maintain your dignity. He is so smart, let's hope he leaves now before his body gets the better of him any more.
