I hope the league looks at it. Some suggest osgoode was mouthing off but Osgoode implied that Ribero said something to him before the slash. As Ron Maclean said, Osgoode has taken pucks to that area that would've hurt more so it wasn't ultra violent but it was still stupid of that guy who never showed up in a habs uniform. (still a little bitter)

If he DID start talking trash to Osgood, and then Osgood did so, then if he attacked him it's wrong. But why would he insult him, knowing that he would respond just to get a quick hit?
If Osgood talked trash to him, then it's not okay like the Kimmo Timmonen incident.

I will say, this is a tap - there is no way that osgood was hurt IN THE LEAST.
That said - ribeiro should never have done this - bad sportmanship - skate away if something was said that was wrong - be bigger.

yeah I heard that Osgoode butt ended him before the slash but that's heresay. Anyway, as for the oscar, although Osgoode should be a nominee, he definitely took one out of Ribeiro's playbook. Check out his dive and subsequent fish out of water display against the Bruins in 2004. It's on youtube and quite hilarious. I remember being embarassed to be a hab's fan that night.

I think Ribeiro has matured a lot since leaving Montreal but that slash made me question that, however Osgoode obviously irritated him enough to respond like that. The whole Dallas club is in frustation mode right now so I can't blame Ribeiro entirely. Anyone who can control the puck like that(Detroit) must frustrate teams. That's real talent that the Wings have. It's not a lineup of superstars or a tight checking defensive club ala Jersey in the past or a past his prime rising star and a overhyped goalie that win cups.(Kovalev, Price) It's teams like the Wings who have offence, defence and old,experienced guys who can still skate with young guys, and forgotten goalies such as Osgoode who is suddenly born again.
