I just cannot believe that after the season that the Red Wings had that they lose in the first round of the playoffs. I just cannot believe that the team that completely dominated in the regular season is eliminated and we are not going to see them play. Oilers were TOO strong. Forceful team, Edmonton - they don't get pushed around, and it seemed enough to throw detroit off. Maybe it's a shocker, maybe not. I never wrote edmonton off cause they pester and push and score...
I just checked my thread re choosing who would make it to second round and i wrote how I wanted to say edmonton but i had to be realistic and say Detroit - boy have I learned my lesson - there is no room for reality in hockey picks!...
It was some game, undecided up to the last minutes - and despite pronger's re-claiming the penalty box.

Speaking of captains, i like Jason Smith - kind of a don't (tucker) with me kind of captain - and Peca seemed in fine form.

It's not only that they lost...The fact that this was a choke of the highest order (allowing 4 goals in 1 period) by a seasoned team like the Wings really makes it stunning.
