| NBA Playoffs - Detroit Pistons vs. Chicago Bulls The Detroit Pistons claimed a decisive Game 1 victory over the Chicago Bulls yesterday. According to the Associated Press, "The Detroit Pistons turned determination into a dominant performance, reminiscent of some of their wins en route to the 2004 NBA title... Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton each scored 20 points, leading Detroit to a 95-69 rout over the Chicago Bulls in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals Saturday night... The Pistons were aggressive on defense, clogging passing lanes with their feet and hands. They caused problems at the other end of the court, too, playing unselfishly to help five players score in double figures." Detroit definitely looks to be the team to be in the East, at least they did last night. Can they keep it up?

| Pistons Dominating Bulls in All Areas DEERFIELD, Ill., May 9 (AP) -- A dominant backcourt. A big rebounding edge. And a tight defense. It all explains why the Detroit Pistons hold a 2-0 lead over the Bulls as the second-round series shifts to Chicago for Game 3 on Thursday night. "We're hungry, focused, locked in,'' guard Chauncey Billups said. "We're locked in to what we want to do right now.'' Only 12 NBA teams have won a best-of-seven series after dropping the first two games and only three major pro teams have overcome a 3-0 deficit - the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, 1975 New York Islanders and 2004 Boston Red Sox. With two blowout victories at The Palace of Auburn Hills, the Pistons are showing no signs of letting up against Chicago after sweeping Orlando in the first round. And while the Bulls led the Eastern Conference with 31 wins at home during the regular season, the Pistons were its best road team, with 27 victories. "We've really been focused,'' said forward Tayshaun Prince, averaging 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in the series. "It's not about playing the game right now, it's about being focused and being mentally prepared for a good team that's going to battle us. Now that we're going on the road, it's going to be a lot tougher to get wins.'' Pistons Dominating Bulls in All Areas Last edited by Lefty Noob : 05-10-2007 at 05:05 PM. |

| Re: Pistons Dominating Bulls in All Areas Detroit looks like they're headed for the sweep after beating Chicago 81-74 last night. According to the Associated Press, "Tayshaun Prince scored 23 points and Chauncey Billups added 21, and the Pistons rallied from a 19-point deficit to beat the Bulls... No NBA team has won a best-of-seven series after dropping the first three games, and only three major professional teams have done that -- the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, 1975 New York Islanders and 2004 Boston Red Sox." Wow, are they ever getting killed out there. What happened to the Bulls team that beat Miami? |
