Re: Marinelli impressed with Lions

"I'm pleased how they've responded to the work, the hitting, the pads day in and day out. They deserved it, they earned it," new Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli told the AP after Tuesday's practice. "The intensity they played with on each snap, how hard they were trying to play, that's the part to me that's really important... You never know how physically and mentally tough you are until you're challenged to that point. That's the only way you get it. You have to challenge a man to that point so they can see that. These are tough men, we just have to keep the standard high for them."

Will Marinelli's approach to training camp work for the Detroit Lions?
