"The Detroit Lions finally have options at quarterback, something they didn't have the entire time Joey Harrington was in uniform," writes the author of this article about the Jon Kitna and Josh McCown signings. "Kitna has good years ahead of him, while McCown has all the makings of a solid NFL career. Detroit's problems won't be solved overnight because of what the quarterback does... The opportunity to rebound from a dismal showing last season is there, however, and Jon Kitna and Josh McCown have every intention of having a say in the winning process."

So, how would you rank Kitna, McCown and Harrington in terms of ability?

If you had all three QBs on your roster, in what order would they be on the depth chart?

Kitna didn't look too hot against the Steelers and McCown was erratic in Arizona. I really don't think that Harrington was that bad. He's become a scapegoat for a pathetic team in every aspect.

Kitna, when he's the guy taking the snaps in practice every week, is a damn fine quarterback, and McCown outplayed Warner in Arizona if you ask me. I still think he has a tremendous upside, but were I to rank them today, it'd be Kitna - McCown - Harrington.

I am a Joey Harrington fan...they will be sorry to have let him go...like the Bucs giving up on Steve Young...

harrington sucked so much. the lions have a better chance of winning more games with kitna and mccown. i was so happy when they got rid of harrington.

Thank you, eagles5. Glad to see another voice of reason on the boards! Gotham, I can NOT believe you compared Steve Young and Joey Harrington. No offense, but this is an even bigger stretch than your "Archie Manning was better than Phil Simms, Ken Anderson and Kenny Stabler argument." But that's old news -- when Harrington's playing Arena League ball, we all need to make sure we come back to this thread and have a good laugh, okay? (Yeah, I'm bustin' your chops, but its all in good fun, my friend!)

most of the losts were because of harrington not the infamous matt millen.

Well, let's give credit where credit is due -- Millen's made some horrible personnel decisions that went a long way to the team stinking it up as badly as they have. If you don't believe me, check out some of Millen's career statistics over at the Fire Matt Millen! thread.
