According to this story, "Pittsburgh Steeler great and Detroit native Jerome Bettis will receive the Community Courage Award at the 13th annual Detroit Lions Courage House Dinner, October 17, at Ford Field." Bettis was definitely a class act, and as a Detroit native, I guess it kind of makes sense for the Lions to honor him even though he never played a down for them. Er, right?
