Detroit Will Now Pay More for Emotional Abuse

This is what happens when you fail to get those Fire Millen walkouts properly organized at home games, Lions fans. Now you're paying more to see less.

The Lions are raising their ticket prices this year after losing seven out of their last eight games to finish 7-9 (in a city whose industrial economy is collapsing, at that). Of course, there's also that big number: 31-81 since Matt Millen has taken over the team. The average ticket price now jumps from $60.66 to $71.85. The Lions are going to look like the bad guy here. And that's understandable.

But it's also the first time in the life of Ford Field (three years) that they've raised ticket prices, and the average ticket price is still about $4 less than the league average. Part of this rise is due to the rising salary cap, which Lions' executive vice president Tim Lewand said they "always spend to the limit," (he never said they spent it well). With the way the NFL economy is changing, a hike was bound to happen at some point. You can't really blame them.

Poor Lions fans. Their ownership is apathetic, their front office is incompetent, and now they going to have the privilege of paying more to see their 37 wide receivers take the field.

37 receivers and 15 cornerbacks Lefty. They are going after cornerbacks this season.

It seems to me that alot of the teams are increasing their prices this year.

True, but some of them are easier to justify than others.

Well, whether the teams win or lose, are good or bad, they all are paying their players a lot more money these days.
