Lions focus on Cornerback in draft, free agency

The Lions hope to make cornerback one of the strongest and deepest position on their team.
They are hoping to sign two of their own free agents-Travis Fisher, Keith Smith- and target Brian Kelly, a ten year veteran of the Tampa Bay Bucs.
After that, they will be focusing on cornerback in the draft, possibly using their 1st and 2nd round picks.

Maybe pretty soon they will have as many cornerbacks as wide receivers.
Do you think cornerback is their greatest need?

Well, they did just cut Bryant, so there is a need at corner, believe it or not. I wouldn't be surprised for them to spend a first-day pick on one.

Cool Re: Lions focus on Cornerback in draft, free agency

Once again, there goes Matt Millen proving he doesn't know what the hell he's doing.

The Lions need help on the defensive front. You'd be surprised how much better mediocre cornerbacks get when the opposing quarterback doesn't have all day to throw....

If I was a GM, these are the positions I would NEVER draft in the first round:

Wide Receiver, Tight End or Defensive Secondary.

Tell me a team that won the Super Bowl because of high impact players at these positions. You win with Quarterbacks, Offensive line and Defensive line, Linebackers, Running backs....The rest, you fill in later.
