Lions'Marinelli reveals master off-season plan

Coach Rod Marinelli wants to add fast, explosive players this off-season. But that doesn't mean he's in a rush as the Lions work on reshaping their roster.

The Lions aren't releasing veterans right now, as some other NFL teams are. They aren't saying they won't re-sign certain unrestricted free agents. They are leaving their options open, as they wait and see how things play out.

It seems to me if he waits too long, all the best players would be taken. Or is there a method to his madness?

Yeah... if you want to add speed, go out and get the speed. Don't wait around and see what falls in your lap. Stupid.

I have to say that the "best player in the draft" last season Calvin Johnson is not a bust yet by any means but in 2007 he did NOTHING!!! Adrian Peterson was the best player in the draft bu then again hindsight is always 20/20.
