Did former QB curse the Lions?

Nobody remembers hearing anything about the Curse of Bobby Layne, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.
What else could explain 50 years of Detroit Lions futility? Bad coaching, poor players, and inept management are factors, sure. And so was the dominance of division rivals.
According to football legend, Layne -- the Lions' Hall of Fame quarterback - was angry about being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1958 and put a curse on the Lions. Although no documentation was found to support it, Layne supposedly said the Lions "would not win for 50 years."
The Lions had never heard of the curse until recently.
Marinelli loves it because the curse is over. Its been 50 years and the hex is off and the Lions are now free to win the Super Bowl.

Lions to win Super Bowl? Layne curse is finally over - Detroit Lions: News, Blogs, Photos, Audio, Schedule & Stats - MLive.com

This means the Lions will be the surprise team of the year.

Cool Re: Did former QB curse the Lions?

I think it's more Matt Millen is the curse of the Lions.

Hey now, Bobby Lane could have wished that on the Lions...
