Re: detroitlions lb sims

Article contains good analysis of Sims, his character issues and the concussion concerns, but more than anything it discusses why the Lions went with him.

"They picked Sims -- over quarterbacks Matt Leinart and Jay Cutler and countless other players -- because he seems to embody the qualities Marinelli wants," it reads. "Sims, a 6-foot, 221-pounder, has talent -- vision, anticipation, the quickness and speed to play man or zone. But it's what Marinelli calls the 'non-talented' issues that stick out."

"Marinelli wants men who love football -- who practice hard and play hard. Sims is his man. He loves football, and what he loves most about it is hitting. He'll hit anything or anyone -- blocking sleds, teammates, even his brother."

Definitely sounds like an old-school kind of player for an old-school kind of coach. I just wonder if he'll manage to stay healthy long enough to be effective. What do you think?
