| Most players relieved Martz is gone Lions insider Tom Kowalski tells Sports Radio 1130 that most offensive players are breathing a sigh or relief now that Mike Martz is gone because he put enormous pressure on them to be constantly studying the play book and keeping in top physical condition. Guys were blowing routes because they didn't have the commitment to stick with his demands. It could have worked if they had shown the dedication to his program. | Re: Most players relieved Martz is gone I'm sad, but not surprised, to hear this. Lack of discipline and work ethic has long been one of the Lions biggest weaknesses - right up their with front office. Remember back when Marinelli was hired, the players complained to the union that his practices were too hard. They're a bunch of gutless, spineless cowards and if this is the attitude they bring to the table, the deserve to lose every stinkin' game they play.

| Re: Most players relieved Martz is gone Could you imagine telling a reporter you are glad the guy is gone for those reasons? I wonder what wide receiver they are targeting in the first round this year. |
