Lions wide receiver
Roy Williams has long been rumored to be frustrated with offensive coordinator
Mike Martz's play calling, specifically that Martz doesn't call as many plays for Williams as Williams would like.
But for the first time yesterday,
Williams seemed to confirm those rumors, and he specifically seemed a bit jealous of the Lions' rookie receiver,
Calvin Johnson.
"I mean, I know my understudy here, Calvin Johnson, is going to be better than me one day," he said. "I'm trying to groom him to be that way. I know next year is my contract year. So I don't know what the future holds for me. But as far as right now, I feel like I'm OK. I'm pretty good. I just want to play ball."
What does he want the future to hold?
"Oh, man," he said. "Everybody wants to stay with the team that they started out with. I mean, it's hard to do now with free agency and everything. But I think I'm a good enough player that I think I'll be back here in Detroit."
