| Martz: Lions offense a long way from good Highlights from Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz’s media session Thursday: On the second half of the season: “Things really intensify with each game, and you just need to get better with your intensity and our performance. You just worry about the little details of what we do. We’re a long ways from being a good offense. We’re kind of just OK, really. We’re getting better, but we’re not nearly where we need to be.” On what is holding back the offense: “There always seems to be a little execution issue here and there. It just takes one guy, one foul-up someplace, to really kind of stumble or trip on a particular play. We’re getting better. We are. We’re getting better, and I think that we’ll start to snowball here a little bit. But the execution still isn’t what it needs to be.” On if the plays are there: “There’s times there’s plays to be made, and sometimes we don’t make them, plays that we normally would make. It’s a little disconcerting. But then there’s times where it’s just not a good call or it’s a bad play. You do the best you can with it. It’s not the issue that we’ve got such a good game plan or we’ve got such good plays. Whatever play’s called, we just need to execute and continue to execute better. And we’re getting better. We’re just not where we need to be.” Mike Martz: Lions' offense a long way from good
