Bears struggles a warning to Lions

If he's smart, Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli will continue to show his team the Chicago Bears game film throughout the season. In fact, Marinelli should constantly show the tapes of both of Detroit's wins over Chicago. Those game films would not only reinforce the positive feelings and confidence among the Lions but it was also serve as a brutal reminder of how fast and fleeting success can be.
Confidence is a great thing while overconfidence breeds laziness and complacency.
Those are the elements Marinelli has to fight as his young Lions begin to bristle with self-assurance. Only three teams in the NFL are 3-0 in their division the Lions and, um, the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots.
No one is suggesting the Lions are on THAT level but, then again, the numbers don't lie. Outside of the Lions locker room, no one is taking Detroit seriously right now because their two losses were blowouts of embarrassing proportions. Except for those five wins, this is a seriously flawed team.

Here's why the Lions will have to be reckoned with in the NFC for the next two months -- they win under pressure. Yes, they were shredded in their two losses but in those other five games, the difference between winning and losing came down to the final quarter -- that minefield that separates the men from the boys in the NFL
