| Mike Martz change? No Way! Martz is not going to change. He is not going to alter his approach, even if he is at the low point of his tenure as Lions offensive coordinator and is being questioned inside and outside the locker room. This is the low point of his tenure. The Lions are in their second year in his system and have more talent than they had before, but they have not scored a touchdown in nine of their last 10 quarters. They are 3-2, after winning only three games all of last season, but they have been blown out in two of their last three games. In those games, the offense has hurt them on both sides of the ball, not only failing to score, but failing to keep the defense off the field. Martz doesn't think there is anything fundamentally wrong with his play calling, and while coaches always have their debates, head coach Rod Marinelli isn't going to force him to run the ball. He knew what he was getting when he hired Martz last year, and, as he said, he hired Martz to be Martz. NICHOLAS J. COTSONIKA: Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz change? No way!
