| FS Bullocks out for the year Daniel Bullocks, who would have been the Lions’ starting free safety, was played on injured reserve on Monday. He will miss the entire season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament. “We loved him,” head coach Rod Marinelli said of Bullocks. “But you move on. It’s what the league is. The NFL is all about that. There’s disappointments, there’s tragedies in this league but the good, strong people in this league move forward.”arinelli said Idrees Bashir and rookie Gerald Alexander are the most likely candidates to replace Bullocks. “He’s a heck of a player, but we’ve got two other guys back there that we like,” Marinelli said. “Bashir has been a starter in this league and he’s been in this system in Indy. And we like Gerald Alexander a lot. We’ve said that from Day 1.” Marinelli said he hasn’t decided on who would start at free safety. Bullocks was injured in Saturday’s 37-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He won't have surgery until the swelling in his knee goes down. .
