In the NFC North, anything is possible, including taking the Lions seriously. They certainly have skilled players on both sides of the ball and shouldn't even have to win 10 games to compete with Green Bay and Minnesota in chasing Chicago.

If defensive tackle Shaun Rogers and receiver Roy Williams decide it's time to bring that University of Texas pride north, the Lions could finally rid themselves of their reputation as the worst team in football, with only 24 wins in the last six years.

Marinelli has worked hard at instilling the proper work ethic, not easy in a group with so little positive history. Sooner or later, however, the law of averages applies to everybody.

I think they would be thrilled to be a 500 team, much less playoff contenders.

This is the Clippers of the NFL...lots of high draft picks and bad palyoff history the last few decades...I see them building a foundation this year but they will be lucky to go 8-8.

they will be just like the cardnals of last year every thinks they'll be good but they still had a bad season.remember its not how good you are on paper its how good you are on the field.

vincesanity is predicting the lions make the playoffs this year..how you say, umm I dont know maybe cause they acquired tatum bell with kevin jones backing him up, and they drafted calvin johnson who will be this years rookie of the year..

Don't matter...they got to learn to play together...then they got to learn how to win...it will take a year or two for them to get it together...

I think thats going to be one of the hardest things for them to do. They have a lot of bad years behind them.

They have a long way to go. Now, the Cardinals on the other hand....this is the year they turn it around.

Naw, they still stunk up the league during Barry's tenure...they did make the playoffs 5 times in the 1990's but they got their butts handed to them in post season play including one 58-37 loss to the Eagles in which they trailed by 44 points at halftime...their one NFC Chamionship they got killed 41-10...this team has bad charma...
